Change your video to allow everyone to see it (including me)

1. Log in to Vimeo
2. Click in My Videos in the black menu bar in the upper right
3. Click on the video you posted
4. Click the gear in the upper right (under the black menu bar) – that will open the Settings screen
5. Click on Privacy in the menu on the left
6. Choose “Anyone” under Who Can See This Video
7. Click on Save Changes on the left (a blue button with white letters)
8. LOG OUT of Vimeo (very important for the next step!)

Check to make sure it worked

 9. Log in to Moodle
10. Go to the Video Production course, and to the forum called “Post A Link to your Video Here”
11. Click on the Discussion title next to your name
12. Click on the video link. If you can see it (and if you logged out in step 8 above) you’re all set!
13. If it still says you can’t see the video because it is private, go back to step one and repeat (carefully!)

2. Edit After your videos are on the Mac, you need to quickly finish editing. Remember to edit out any mistakes. Please add an opening title and closing credits as well.

2. Upload it You’ll need to work with me to get your video onto a USB Flash Drive. I can copy files for one group at a time.

3. Edit it Once you have your video files on a USB drive, plug it into a Macbook and import the video into iMovie. I’ll give you a short demo of how this program works.

4. Post it Your team needs to post both of your edited interviews to Moodle by the end of our double block tomorrow (Tuesday).

1. Yesterday you should have written a proposal, had it approved, posted it, then completed and posted a script. If not, you will be submitting work late!

2. Time It If you haven’t already done so, time your interview by reading through it slowly after you finish it. You can use an online timer – google “online timer.” Your interview should be 1:30 to 2:00 minutes long. If not, you need to add to it!

3. Rehearse It After you post your Word document, rehearse the script with your partner. Your partner should ask you the questions and you should respond by reading your script as naturally as possible.

4. Record it Record your interviews using a Flip camera. Remember some of the things to watch for: backlighting, camera steadiness, distance from your subject and framing.

1. New Project Today you will be starting on an interview project. Using what you learned with the interviews you recorded last week, imagine yourself being interviewed on a topic of your choice. Your topic should be one that you are personally invovled in. For example, don’t plan to talk about basketball if you don’t play on a team!

2. Proposal You will write a proposal (minimum 75 words) summarizing what you will talk about. Show it to me before you post it to Moodle. See below for help with Moodle.

3. Script When you’re done with your proposal, you will write a script for the interview with the questions you would like to be asked as well as the answers. Plan to complete this script before the end of the double block.
